Korn

Korn made an energetic return to The Fillmore Silver Spring.  This time around the once estranged guitarist Brian “Head” Welch joined Jonathan and the crew.  With the energy and togetherness on the stage no one could tell that Head had been missing from the band for several years.   Starting off the show with some old school Korn tracks such as Blind and Ball Tongue got the crowd pumping from the first cymbal taps.  From that point on the building was a seething mass of anger, pain, excitement, heat, and joy.  This was Korn at their best.   [Show as...

Garbage

If you are a Garbage fan and you are only happy when it rains then last night gave you a one-two punch to heaven.   Rain coming down outside and Garbage on stage, it was a good night to be out. What better way to start the show than with Shirley and the gang blasting out “Supervixen.”  If there was ever any doubt as to the vixens power and ability to mesmerize the audience it was surely washed away with the rain.  Their first show at the Fillmore and the first track off their debut album, and it only grew from there. Garbage spent the next 2 hours belting song after song, with a set list numbering the legal drinking age.  It might have been raining outside but it was storming inside.  At one point Shirley stopped the show because someone in the audience was causing problems.  Manson has been known to have someone kicked out for their actions and it almost came to that again.  After a brief interaction and things ready to return to normal Shirley had to clear the ‘bad juju’ and broke out with a little of Die Antwoord’s “I Fink U Freeky.”  With the unplanned interlude done they exploded back to their set and kept the crowd moving until the final note was done. Garbage proved once again that, despite the years and Shirley’s initial fears when reforming the band, they know how to grab a crowd and take them on an adventure through their musical history but return them safely back when all is said and done.   [Show as...

Work in progress

With Artomatic just around the corner, I spent Sunday preparing my wall.  As you can see I have the black borders painted and have outlined the two areas I will be using.  Each space is a 5’x7′ area and the stripe down the center is 2′.  I will be using the stripe to hang the information about the images, contact info, my name, all that jazz   The left half of the wall will be for my Odd-Day-T photos.  Before I can hang those images I need to apply the ‘cork’ background.  I have all the images chosen and printed.  Once the ‘cork’ has been installed then I can hang the images.   The right side of the wall will contain the Even Steven images.  I have a lot more to do on this side versus the left.  For starters, I need to choose the Steven pictures I want to use.  I have gone through and narrowed down the selection to 41, however, I was only planning on using 24 images.  The selection process for Steven is a lot harder than it was for the Odd-Day-T.  Because the Steven project is still ongoing I can’t just limit myself to 2 images from each month, as I did with Odd-Day, so it is a bit of a struggle.   My titling and general information still needs to be typed up and framed.  MY cards are on order and will hopefully arrive shortly. So much to do and so little time to do it in.  Everything has to be installed and ready to go on Sunday May 13.  I think...
